Plastic surgeons are generally the sub-category of cosmetic surgeons whose work primarily focuses on aesthetic enhancements.  Plastic surgeons are able to enhance their client’s appearance beyond the average level to achieve an aesthetic ideal through surgery.

The five most common procedures performed by plastic surgeons in the United States are:

Mammoplasty (breast augmentation,, reduction, or lifts)

Liposuction (fat removal)

Rhinoplasty (reshaping of the nose)

Blepharoplasty (reshaping of the eyelids)

Abdominoplasty (reshaping and/or firming of the abdomen)
